Hate to see your kids like couch potatoes? You may want to engage them to some activities that would make them forget to watch their favorite cartoons every day.
Kids naturally love to exercise, without even knowing it. Their play is already their exercise. They run, they walk and they jump and play. These make them sweat a lot every day. Thus, their muscles and heart strengthen as they do these activities.
To make kids happy, flexible and balanced, here are some of the tricks that can help them engaged in healthy physical activities:
Make your kids love sports.
Though there are a lot of kids don’t like the idea of joining their selves into sports, it doesn’t mean that there is no way to make them learn to love it. There are a lot of sporty activities that your kids would truly enjoy themselves. Aside from the enjoyment that sports can give them, they also develop physically. Their motor skill is also improved. Introduce your kids to a new sport once in a while so they will not be bored of a single sport. Let’s say, this week you play basketball, next week, is badminton and so on and so forth. Your kids will surely be excited.
Set play times for your kids.
Kids are always on the go when it comes to play. Playing is a means of improving the social aspect of your child. When your kids join games to other kids, they win friends, explore lot of things, distinguish common likes and dislikes, and learn how to share. Your kids will surely love to play with other kids, but if your child is just alone and no one to play with, you can even join him/her to play, like bike with her around the neighbourhood or play a hula-hoop.
Be an example.
As a mom or dad, you need to show things that your kids will most likely to follow. Be active yourself and let your kids see what you do. If you are exercising every day, showing your kids that you are enjoying the exercise, your kids will excite and would want to follow your steps. The great motivation to your child is in your home. You, as parents, are the role model, so give your best to show that exercising is best for you and your kids as well.
Give a schedule
Since your kids are easily be distracted of a lot of things around her, make her a daily schedule on what things to do throughout the day. Don’t let your kids be lazy at all times. Teach them how to manage their time. Explain that there is time for work, play, rest and fun family bonding.
